This is a guide for migrating your existing Unreal project to your Varjo headset using the Varjo Unreal plugin found on the Varjo website.
Download and install from the Steam page
Varjo Base Download
Epic Games Launcher Download
Open Epic Launcher.
Go to the Unreal Engine tab.
Install Unreal Engine 4.21 or newer.
Launch Unreal Engine
Create a “New Project” – Select “Blueprint” tab and “Blank” project from the list of templates.
Save and close the newly opened project.
Download Varjo plugin for your version of Unreal Engine from the Varjo Downloads page.
Unzip the downloaded zip file.
Create a new folder in your project’s directory and name it as ‘Plugins’.
Copy your unzipped plugin to this newly created folder.
Start UE again and open your project.
From “Edit”->”Plugins”, from “Installed”->”Virtual Reality”, enable the Varjo plugin.
Press “Restart Now” to apply changes.
From ”Built-In”, “Virtual Reality”, Disable SteamVR plugin, to make sure that the content runs against the Varjo Runtime.
Click “Restart Now” to apply changes.
From ”Project Settings, “Settings”, select Start in VR
To run on the headset or in Varjo software emulator, select “Play” → “VR Preview”
Tune the project with the guidance from Performance and Visual Quality page.
